I've been thinking about Samurai Jack.

Dawn Notes no.19

Best introduction to a character ever. Also not my picture (obviously), deviating because of the specifics of this post. Read it!

Good morning, good morning, good morning! As always busy days. But yesterdays labor was fruitful. Excited for tonight and the coming days.

Project update:

I edited the short story I wrote a while back. So, now I am gonna start giving it to people to read, and see if what I have written is any good.

Suggestion?

You should watch Samurai Jack. Might be my favorite show. I have been rewatching it for the past week or so, and it is so good. It just brings me to a space of mind that is just bliss. I would call it more art than entertainment. I remember watching it as a child before it turned 22:00. It was the last thing on before Cartoon Network went into Adult Swim, and it was usually the last thing I watched before bed. Great times. It is also an action show, so if you're into martial arts or something, you might also enjoy it. If you do watch it, tell me which episode is your favorite. Personally, I really love the Scotsman episodes, the one with the pyramid heist and the first three episodes of season 5. Of course, there are the artistic masterpieces like The Three Blind Archers or the one where they play with light.
The audio! God, I can't believe I would listen to this as a child. The music arrangements and the foley work is immaculate. I think every episode has an original track or tone and it helps to sell the mood of this show so well. My favorite sound is Aku's presence. When he is on screen, he is usually accompanied by a cycling, dark tone. The tremolo effect sells his evil perfectly.
One last stray thought. What a villain. Aku is the shogun of sorrow, yet most scenes involving him are almost always funny or comical.

That's all, catch you later.
