I am on a train, and life is also on a train.
Dawn Notes no.51

I am currently on a train.
Hello, welcome again to the next morning in our lives.
I am doing well, even with the fact that I slept only around 3 hours. I had work in the morning and at night I was watching the second Hunger Games movie with my girlfriend. So, my priorities are well figured. I am going back to Latvia, and I hope to have a restful break.
Project Updates?
Hello, this section. Been a while, I think. Anyways, for project related things I am still working on a simple game with my friend. Yesterday I actually felt like a real programmer/game developer for the first time, since I implemented a (albeit super simple) mechanic by myself. Very satisfying. Not having to reference a tutorial and just trusting that I can figure things out on my own seems to be quite rewarding, so during my break I will try to touch upon the project.
Other projects include my short story, that I have now received some feedback for and would want to rewrite a lot of it or maybe all of it, but that is a hobby project, so for now it will rest.
Similarly, my senior project is suffering in terms of time allocation. I haven't worked on anything SEPR related for a week and a half I think. I mean sure, it was exam week, but yeah, I should catch up.
Fun things I am doing (mini book reflection)?
Well, maybe not fun exactly, but during my travel time I want to finish Septology by Jon Fosse. It is a good book I think. I just have struggled to pick it up, since his writing style is basically a flow of consciousness, and it can become boring. I enjoy it tho, but it is intimidating to say the least. There isn't a traditional plot hook or story to follow. It is more like a scene that you immerse yourself in, for while you are reading it you become one with the text in a way. I am not reading a story, I am experiencing what Asle (the person who's perspective and thoughts you perceive) is experiencing. It is a trip through memories of a place I have never been to. Now, I don't know if that is praise or not.
To sum it up, it is a deep book. It takes energy to read. And I guess I just didn't have that type of energy for the past weeks.
I will keep training my way out and see you tomorrow, in Latvia!
